Trump – American Dictator??
Long ago I determined that Trump is not fit to be President. That assessment was mostly based on his vulgar behavior, hateful language, and xenophobic rants. I consider that un-American. But the thing that really scares me:
Strange Christian Behavior This Election Cycle
This year we are faced with the worst two candidates for President in my lifetime. I wish we truly had a competitive choice. If he had any real chance of winning I would vote for Gary Johnson. I share much of his philosophy of national governance – MODERATE fiscal conservative; MODERATE social liberal.
Assessing the Presidential Candidates
A number of people have encouraged me to comment on the crop of Presidential candidates for the 2016 Presidential election. When there were nearly 2 dozen of them I didn’t want to waste my time analyzing lots of hopefuls that would never make the final cut. Now that we are down to the “best” five I hardly know what to say!!! Nevertheless I will make some observations about each for my followers to criticize.
America is Still a Racist Society
It has been 51 years since the Selma-to-Montgomery civil rights march of 1965. That (Bloody Sunday) was one of the turning points in the civil rights movement because TV captured the sheer brutality of white rule in the South. So after 5 decades have we achieved racial equality in the South, or anywhere else in America for that matter? Hardly! Not even close!!
Trump on Abortion
I expected Democrats to attack Donald Trump for his latest outrageous comments about women deserving punishment for having an abortion if it were illegal. What I don’t get is the Republican outrage on his remarks.
Trump Looks Presidential!!!
I am not a fan of Donald Trump. I think he is a despicable character. Nevertheless in Thursday night’s debate he demonstrated far more Presidential leadership qualities on the subject of Israeli/Palestinian peace than any of the other candidates.
Gun Rights Insanity
About 30,000 people die of gunshot wounds every year in the US. Is that OK? And the vast majority of those deaths are not accidents but intentional killings!
Insanity in the Political Parties
This is the most exciting but frightening Presidential election season in my adult lifetime. Who could ever have imagined a year ago that it would unfold the way it is?
Iowa Caucus!!!
So tomorrow is February 1st and Iowans will have the first opportunity to weigh in on who the nominees should be for President. Looking at the field I am amazed at who has the momentum going into the caucus.
